As CEO, Don Roepke is responsible for setting the company’s strategic direction and plans, for obtaining support of those plans from Datacom's directors, shareholders and the financial community, and directing the management team towards the accomplishment of those objectives. He establishes current and long range plans and policies for the company and directs the corporate governance of the Company.

Don also chairs Datacom’s Strategy Committee, which meets monthly to review and discuss issues of strategic direction.

With a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the University of Minnesota, Don began his career with Control Data Corporation in Minneapolis. Over a 20-year career at Control Data Corporation, Don progressed to executive positions and helped direct the explosive growth of CDC’s computer systems, peripherals and service businesses.

Don is a large corporation trained strategic leader with a proven success in recruiting key team members, building large businesses and quickly growing sales. In addition, over his many years as a resourceful entrepreneur he has become skilled in profit and balance sheet management.

Gary is Datacom’s Secretary, he participates on Datacom’s Strategy Committee, and he chairs Datacom’s Management Compensation Committee.

Gary was a primary founder of Datacom, and is responsible for defining the dataSTOR functionality and leading its development. Gary is also one of Datacom’s larger individual investors.

Gary holds a physics degree from Colorado State University, and is a computer-industry veteran. Gary also has significant experience and expertise in the build-to-order manufacturing sector.

Gary began his career with Control Data Corporation as a systems engineer and over a span of 16 years he advanced through a number of computer systems, software development, manufacturing and marketing management positions.

<p>Gary left CDC to become President of Curtis Electronics, a high-volume build-to-order manufacturing company with facilities in California, Arizona, and Minnesota.  During his tenure as President of Curtis, Gary grew the business from $5 million to $35 million in annual sales within a three-year period.  It was at Curtis that Gary became familiar with the enterprise software needs of the build-to-order manufacturer.

Steve has been a Datacom Director since 2005.  Steve participates on Datacom’s Strategy Committee, and on Datacom’s Management Compensation Committee.

Steve has been a lead investor in Datacom, most specifically leading the private placement group that invested in Datacom’s product development in 2005.

Steve is retired and spreads his time between Minneapolis, Florida and Hawaii

Prior to his retirement, Steve spent over 25 years at Northern States Power Company, where he held various management positions.

In addition to serving as a Director, Jason is also an active member of Datacom’s Strategy Committee.

Jason is Senior Vice President of Operations for Platinum Equity, a global M&A firm that is headquartered in Los Angeles.

Prior to joining Platinum, Jason was a partner at Marakon, a management consulting firm with offices in London, New York, and Chicago.  He was a founding member of the firm’s Chicago office, and lead the private equity practice for Marakon.

Prior to joining Marakon, Jason served as an M&A analyst at Lehman Brothers.

Jason is Chairman of the Bismarck based Northern Plains RAIN fund.  Northern Plains is one of four RAIN funds that have invested in Datacom, including three RAIN funds located in North Dakota.

Jason received a Bachelor’s degree from Harvard in1995 and then went on to receive a J.D. degree from the University of Michigan Law School.

Jason was born in Dickinson, ND, grew up in Bismarck and, after working in Chicago for a number of years, returned to Bismarck with his wife Brenda to raise their three children.

Vince has been a Datacom Director since 2007.

Vince serves on the Audit Committee and actively participates in Datacom's Strategy Committee meetings.

Vince has a BME from the University of Minnesota and also did his MBA work at the University's grad school in Financial Management.

He recently retired and spends his time in Minnesota and Florida.

Prior to his retirement, Vince had over 30 years of finanial management experience in Fortune 500 and startup companies.  He has extensive ERP experience with SAP, BAAN, and J.D. Edwards. 

 

Bill has been a Datacom Director since 2002. Bill participates on Datacom’s Audit Committee.

Bill is the CFO of Midasco Capital Corp., a founding investor in Datacom and one of Datacom’s single largest investors.

Bill lives in Vancouver, BC, and remains active in Midasco and other Canadian companies that are primarily in the precious metals industry.
