Custom Sign Manufacturing Software Company Continues Quarterly Enhancements
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — January 20, 2011 — Datacom International, Inc. ("Datacom") recently announced the immediate availability of the latest version of dataSIGN. This release included product enhancements and improvements to enhance the users' experience.
"The product enhancements within the dataSIGN fourth quarter release were designed to further address the specific needs of the custom sign manufacturing industry," said Sheldon Scheu, Datacom's VP of Product Research and Development. "We continue to draw upon the feedback from our customers to help us plan and prioritize our product enhancements," added Scheu.
"Datacom continues to enhance dataSIGN on a quarterly basis and provides these new features and enhancements to all of its users at no additional cost," stated Chris Brooks, Datacom's VP of Sales and Marketing. "And all customers automatically receive the upgrades at the same time ensuring they are all immediately on the latest version of dataSIGN. This ability to instantly and automatically upgrade all users at the same time, without any effort or expense on the part of the user, is one of the virtues of the centrally hosted model," added Brooks.
Some of the additional new features include: CRM and Service Calls:
- Service Calls automatically flagged as closed when Work Order is Manufactured or Accounting Closed
- CRM Follow-Up Task expanded to allow for up to 10 future follow-up dates and pop-up calendar functionality
- Added functionality so the user can select their default CRM Search option
- New CRM Notes Report to allow the viewing of CRM notes or email entered into CRM by a date range
Quoting/Estimating:
- New functionality allowing the conversion of a quote directly into a Sales Order from within Quote Entry screen
- Added ability to create a Quote Pipeline Report and Status of All Quotes Report by Division
- Quote Pipeline Report now can be run by a date range using Closing Date, Quoted Date, or Install Date
Sales Order:
- Overriding the Use Tax Code per line item in Sales Order Entry
- Added the ability to select multiple territories on the same Sales Territory Report
Invoicing:
- Added a Frequency option to the Recurring Invoices Maintenance template allowing for flagging the invoice as Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Annually
- Recurring Invoice Release now has selection criteria for newly created frequency option
Purchasing:
- Allow for vendor to be classified as multiple vendor types
- Added the ability to select multiple inventory types for Part Price Listing and Part Listing
Job Costing:
- Added options for adjusting both Labor and Burden for Work Order Adjust
- New export functionality for the WIP Summary Export allowing for either Open WIP items as of an Ending Date or Closed WIP items for a Date Range
- Cost Summary Report can now display Sign Type prior to the description of the Work Order
- Added a new labor costing option that provides for posting labor to work orders using the Work Code/Work Dept Standard labor rate instead of the Employee's actual rate based on a new Cost Parameter field 'Job Costing Labor Rate Basis
- Work Order Status-Labor Detail now displays any setup or adjustment labor
- Added new field 'Offsite Inventory'
Accounting:
- Added vendor print count to 1099 Forms report
- Unapplied Cash now has invoice date range option
- AR Aging Export now can show totals by customer and final total line
- Added an option to print AP invoices by either Entry Date or Due Date and added a Date Range instead of a single date in Daily Batch Balance
- Updated AP Clearing Report to include receiver items that have been invoiced subsequent to the cutoff date
- Changed selection description in Budgets from Fiscal Period to Budget year
